Major match reportedly signed for
Wrestlemania, but will it happen?

Will we see this match happening?
It has been leaked onto the internet that, since the Undertaker has now returned to television, his match for Wrestlemania 29 (likely his only match this year) has been not only confirmed, but the contract has already been signed. It appears that the rumours that surfaced late last year and earlier this year are true, and “The Dead Man” looks to be facing former champion CM Punk in one of the big show’s featured matches.
However, there is already some doubt as to whether or not this match will happen.
Surprisingly enough, Undertaker’s health is not the issue, either. For those that aren’t aware, “The Dead Man” has been in pretty rough shape the last few years, stemming from a shoulder injury years ago that he waited too long to have repaired, resulting in the shoulder never healing properly. In addition to that, he’s suffered numerous back and knee problems due to his in-ring style, and the last two Wrestlemania matches with Triple H certainly did not help matters whatsoever.
No, the problem is the actual match itself. While CM Punk would have no problem putting over the Undertaker at Wrestlemania and continuing “The Streak”, there’s worry about the effects of that result. It was fine when Triple H did it the last two years, as both men are part-time wrestlers, so neither one had anything to lose with the match. However, Punk is a mainstay on the roster and considered the number two guy behind John Cena, with Cena being probably the only guy in the company who works more dates and makes more special appearances than Punk. In addition to being number two on the roster, Punk is the number one heel in the company, and a loss against Taker does nothing to help in that regard.
Right now, the worry behind the scenes is that Punk losing to Taker at the PPV will do more damage than good. Punk has lost the last two pay-per-view matches that he’s been in, and just recently dropped a very high profile match to John Cena this past Monday night. Vince McMahon himself is worried about Punk losing steam by throwing him into a match with Taker, but at the same time, having Punk end “The Streak” (which would be HUGE for his career) would leave a sour taste in the mouths of many fans who don’t ever want the infamous Wrestlemania streak to end.
If this match does happen, the only one who really benefits from it is The Undertaker, and he’s the last guy on the roster to need anything benefiting him, considering he works no more than one match a year; and this will likely be his last Wrestlemania unless he is able to come back for the 30th installment next year, which Vince hopes is the case.
Sources report that The Undertaker will returning to the WWE, possibly as early the upcoming edition of Monday Night RAW. The WWE has recently confirmed that The Undertaker will be a part of WrestleMania 29 and will be facing CM Punk.
There was a lot of speculation regarding the participation of The Undertaker in WrestleMania 29. The Undertaker has always been the main draw of WrestleMania. But this time, there was a lot of rumours suggesting that he would not be a part of this year’s event.
In the recent episode of RAW, Punk set the stage for a match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29 by presenting his promo, in which he called himself the “The Icon”
